I mean, it is hot! Hottest day of the year! BUT, I bet you figured this out on your own! Just be careful today! This heat is a killer and will likely do it today! Do not put yourself in that situation!
A Front will approach and cross the area tomorrow and tomorrow night. I will say though, that this will not limit the heat as much as you would hope! There is a risk of strong and severe storms as the front moves through. We will *COOL* to the 90 to 95 degree range by Monday. Not really cool, but we will also see less humidity. Next week temps will be in the 90 to 95. After Sunday’s storms, another set of storms will be Wednesday.
Bonnie is pretty much fizzled out. The system has just collapsed. This is nothing compared to the serious rainfall up in Chicago with 4 to 6 inches of rain. That was after Wisconsin was slammed yesterday with 4 to 7 inches of rain.
Also of note, a tornado warning was issued for New York City yesterday with a storm that moved through. The Northeast Quadrant caught some great videos and posted them as well as was on YouTube and was interviewed on the Weather Channel this morning. Way to go!
All for now!

Everyone is talking about it! We are all feeling it! Hot temps in the 100 to 105 range today and tomorrow. With the humidity we could see heat index values hit the 110 t 115 range tomorrow! The hottest days we have had yet. Sunday will bring some showers and storms knockibg the temps back a bit.
Temps Monday through Wednesday next week will just be in the upper 80s north while central and southern areas still remain within a few degree of 95. After Sunday the next chance of rain will be next Thursday. I do wonder if the remnants and moisture will fuel some more chances of rain next week. We will see.
Bonnie is moving rapidly to the NW and will strike Floriday later today. Winds remain near 40 mph. Bonnie may become a depression over FL and then restrebgthen in the Gulf before maybe hitting Louisiana as a strong tropical storm, or, at most, a minimal hurricane.
We will see! Stay cool!

Temps today in he Low to upper 90s for most. Northern third of VA, MD, DE, NJ, and Northern half of WV are outlined for the possibility of more severe weather today.
Looks like the wave near the Dominican Republic could become Bonnie and pose a threat to Florida, but this morning it is looking less impressive on Satellite but more impressive on models. Recon and NOAA flights scheduled for today.
All for now.

Well, we continue on with the 90s! Let the Heat roll on! NC really had a nice soaking in many places. More storms could fire in that region today and more widespread chances of rain will happen tomorrow..The temperature forecast is easy. In the Mountains and right on the coast upper 80s. Low to mid 90s elsewhere!
Will the heat let up? There are some signs of a heat re-positioning in the US. The heat could retrograde westward and make the upper plains. We are at least 7 to 10 days before that would happen.
The tropics remain somewhat unfavorable for tropical development. This could or will change in August but there will be a lot of moisture down in the Caribbean and we could see some development down there this week, but the systems still have some turbulent upper air patterns.
All for now!

Not much to add from yesterday other than, the heat up is on and it is gonna be brutal! Highs will be around 100 starting tomorrow and last until Friday! Not much more to say!
The Tropics have another Invest that came to light last evening. I think the low in the Gulf is a done deal and will head onto shore later today. The System in the lower Caribbean needs some watching and just may be the next system to threaten Mexico or Texas! Some models do show it strengthening, but it will take some time to get a true sense of what it will do. I am suspecting it will make it to Tropical Depression status.

Happy 4th of July! We still live in the best country in the world, though we have many challenges and our foundations have been undermined, we are the country that so many want to come to! God has blessed America, you should really take time to figure out why!
We will be a HOT, and I mean HOT! 100 degrees is possible for 5 days in many locations starting Monday! I see no rain and now parts of the region have hit moderate drought status.
After Hurricane Alex, which was one of the strongest June Hurricanes on record (it had a pressure of 947 MB) and if it had time it would have probably become Major, we now have a disturbance in the Gulf that we should watch, and a wave is about to come off Africa
Please be careful tomorrow as we will have low humidity and the sun angle would mean a good chance of Burning as the IV Index is very high at 9!
